Sesame Ginger Venison Steak Stir Fry

This original Sesame Ginger Venison Steak Stir Fry is one my very favorite wild game recipes I’ve prepared to date. You’re going to be so happy I shared it with you! Total prep and cooking time is about 30 minutes.

You’ll Need

1/4 c. sesame oil

1/4 c. avocado oil

1/8 c. seasoned rice vinegar

1/8 c. soy sauce

2 tbsp. ginger powder

green onions

thawed venison round steaks

stir fry veggies


salt and pepper

2 garlic cloves

favorite hot sauce (optional)

Marinate the Steak

In a bowl with a flat bottom (tupperware works great), cover the bottom with 1/4 cup avocado oil, 1/4 cup sesame oil, 1/8 cup of soy sauce, and 1/8 cup seasoned rice vinegar. Add 1 tbsp of ginger powder, and season with salt and pepper. Mince 2 garlic cloves and the greens from the green onions and add them to the mixture. Place the steaks in the marinade for at least two hour, flipping them halfway if the oil doesn’t cover both sides. If you plan ahead, marinate overnight.

Put It All Together

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake steaks for 10 minutes (save the marinade). Take steak out of oven and slice into bite sized pieces.

In a large skillet (preferably one with tall sides like Copper Chef 9.5″ Square Fry Pan with Lid) turned on high, add steak and marinade and cook until outside of steak is seared. 

Add in the stir fry veggies and the whites from the green onions. Cover your skillet for 5-10 minutes and cook until vegetables and steak have reached desired done level.

Serve over rice or quinoa, and add your favorite hot sauce for an extra kick!
